Big news from your phone guys: Orbit AI is here, in early release. We’ve spent the summer putting our new AI phone agent through its paces, and starting now we’re onboarding our first wave of businesses. So let’s cover what Orbit actually does, what it sounds like, and — unusually for a launch post — who it’s not for.
What Orbit actually does on a call
Orbit answers your phone with natural conversation — no “press 1,” no robot voice from 2009. A caller asks if you’re open tomorrow and whether you do repairs; Orbit answers from knowledge of your business (it’s trained on your website, documents, and the details you give it), offers to book a time, checks your real Google or Microsoft calendar, books the slot, and texts the confirmation. You get a summary and transcript. The caller gets a company that answered on the first ring at 9:40 PM.
Three jobs in one
Customers use Orbit as an after-hours receptionist (the most popular — nights, weekends, lunch rushes), as overflow support answering the routine questions so staff handle the complicated ones, and as a lead catcher that never lets an inquiry hit voicemail — every caller’s name, number, and need captured for follow-up.
Who it’s not for (yes, really)
If your call volume is low and you answer nearly everything already, Orbit won’t earn its keep — and we’ll say so. If your calls are overwhelmingly complex and personal, a human should keep answering, with Orbit at most catching the after-hours spillover. An AI agent is a tool, not a religion.
The Radvox promise: before you spend anything, we’ll study the business case with you, free — your call volume, your missed-call cost, your customer mix. If the numbers don’t clearly work, we’ll recommend against it. Phone guys first, salesmen never.
Early release means early attention: the first wave of Orbit businesses gets extra white-glove setup from us — we’ll tune the greetings, the FAQs, and the routing side by side with you, and your feedback shapes where Orbit goes next.
Curious what Orbit would sound like answering for your shop? We’ll build a free live demo with your greeting and your FAQs. Hearing it is worth a thousand blog posts.
